“Unity Health Day” Proclaimed by Mayor and City of Searcy

To commemorate Unity Health’s 50th anniversary, Mayor David Morris of Searcy proclaimed Jan. 16 as “Unity Health Day,” celebrating 50 years since the first hospital patient admittance on Jan. 16, 1967. At an Open House presented by the hospital on Jan. 8, Mayor Morris also presented Chairman of the Board, Mitchell Hamilton, with a key to the city of Searcy for Unity Health.

Unity Health has served the community for half a century, helping to heal patients physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The theme of the hospital’s anniversary year is “It Takes Everyone.” Throughout the years of growth and change, Unity Health has provided care and service to communities throughout White County and the surrounding regions and is appreciative of the contributions made by everyone throughout the decades.

Join in celebrating Unity Health Day and the hospital’s 50th anniversary by visiting the Unity Health – White County Medical Center cafeteria to view a history wall, documenting the hospital’s history in an interactive and informative installment and attend an anniversary event featuring St. Louis Cardinals manager, Mike Matheny, Thursday, Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Searcy High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at the door.
